Inside Jaipur


Founded in AD 1727 by 'Sawai Jai Singh II' Jaipur the capital city of Rajasthan popularly known as 'pink city' or Gulabi-nagri, is famous for its forts, history, tradition, culture, and heritage. The name pink city because of the colors of stone used in the city.

HOW TO REACH-:

Air-: There is an international airport in Jaipur, and gets easily flights from major cities of India, Delhi, Jodhpur, Bombay, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Calcutta, Udaipur, Indore.

Railways-: well connected with the rail network of various cities.

Roadways-: Road connects Jaipur with Delhi-250km, Agra-236, Bikaner-320, Udaipur-405, Ajmer-131, Jodhpur 316, Jaisalmer-568.

Jaipur is quite a big city and there is a lot of things to do, it takes minimum 2-3 days for sightseeing but we try that, we can possibly do maximum things.

Day 1

Start your day at early morning as soon as possible, There is a benefit of early start you can do lots of things in a single day. before to go you can take breakfast I should suggest you the famous Rajasthani 'kachori' with green chutney it was delicious to taste. and after breakfast, we move towards our first point.

KACHORI


AMBER FORT-: The fort is remarkable for its architecture, the Rajput style architecture built by 'Raja Maan Singh' and additions extension were built by 'Raja Jai Singh' and 'Sawai Singh' the last Maharaja of 'Amber' who built a city called Jaipur. Inside of the palace, there is 'sheesh Mahal' (Chamber of Mirror), 'Diwan-e-aam' (Public chamber), 'Diwan-e-khaas' (Private audience Chamber), Sukh mandir, Elephant ride is one of the most exciting things to do, it costs  about 800 to 1000 INR of one side for two persons but the rates were negotiable, in evening light and sound show is a fascinating attraction it's exciting to hear stories of legends Rajput Kings with melodious folk music and describing the tradition and grand lifestyle of Royal families.
Evening show Timings-English 7:30 pm, Hindi 8:30 pm Show charges Indians-100, English-200, Morning Entry fees-: 100Rs for Indians, 200Rs for foreigners, Timings-: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. After that, we move towards our next stop.

NIGHT VIEW OF AMBER FORT

JAIGARH FORT-: Standing on a hilltop, overlooking the palaces and city of Jaipur such an amazing view, the world biggest cannon on wheels 'JAIBAN' is positioned here. Timings-: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Entry fees:-25Rs for Indians, 75Rs for foreigners.

JAIBAAN

NAHARGARH-: just next to Jaigarh, 600 Ft above the city built in 1734 architectural beauties like Mahendra Bhawan, Hawa mandir, are inside the fort. Timings 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

JALMAHAL-: 6 Kms from amber fort a beautiful Palace sets in the middle of the lake, entrance is not allowed the Palace is closed since, for a long time renovation works takes place in the progress. But you should definitely take photograph from outside.

                            after that, its time to lunch there were a variety of foods and multi cuisines restaurants are available in Jaipur, but we are in Jaipur and I suggest you try the traditional Rajasthani food, I suggest Hotel 'LMB' in 'Johri Bazar' two reasons to choose 'LMB' one is their quality and the other is location because it was located in the middle of the market, and most of the monuments are nearby, you can get here a grand Rajasthani thali which includes dal (pulses), baati, churma, kair sangri saag, papad saag, gatte ka saag, bajre ki roti, sweet dishes, that was a maharaja lunch, after the lunch its time for shopping.

JOHRI BAZAR -: Market where you can buy all kind of jewelry and sarees.

TRIPOLIA BAZAR -: Here you can purchase textiles, utensils, ironware, blankets.

BAPU BAZAR -: Textiles, local perfumes, and mojri (shoes) made up of camel skin and leather.

M.I ROAD -: This is the place where you can get everything from jewelry, brass work, textiles, blue pottery to woodwork, but this market is quite costlier as compared to other markets.

MARKET VIEW

Day 1 is very busy and full of tiredness,  and it's time to rest because the next day had a lot of things to do and for that, you need proper rest.

DAY 2 

HAWAMAHAL -: We start our day with Hawamahal the (wind palace) built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Singh, the most recognizable monument of Jaipur, the 5 storied stunning monument is a fine piece of Rajput architecture, this is originally designed for the royal ladies to watch on the street below. Timings 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Entry fee 10 Rs for Indians, 50 Rs for foreigners.

VIEW OF HAWAMAHAL AT NIGHT

CITY PALACE -: Situated in the heart of the city, near Hawamahal, the Palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, a seven-storeyed Chandra mahal in the center, Diwan-e-aam (hall of public audience) diwan-e-khaas (hall of private audience) Mubarak mahal has such collection of costume and textiles, there is a clock tower near Mubarak mahal collection of armoury and weapons. Timings 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Entry fee 130 Rs for Indians 500 Rs for foreigners.

JANTAR MANTAR -: Just next to City palace, Jantar-Mantar built in the 18th century by  Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, it features world's longest sundial and is a UNESCO world heritage site. the huge instruments used to study the movement of the constellation and stars in the sky. astronomy instrument whose design principles are based on ancient Hindu, Sanskrit texts. Timings 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Entry fee 50 Rs for Indians and 100 Rs for foreigners.

A DAY IN A JAIPUR

It's difficult to see Jaipur in a day, but if your time management is good u can possibly do lot of things, start your day as early as possible and our first stop is  'AMBER FORT' the huge enormous structure just amazed you (separate details of all the monuments given above) after amber we move towards the 'JAL MAHAL' which is near to amber but entry is closed due to some renovation work take place, you can see only from outside, then our next stop is 'CITY PALACE' where you can see the royal culture of Maharajas, their dresses, ornaments, armoury, living place and many more things. just next to City Palace is  'JANTAR-MANTAR' observatory, it has the biggest sundial of the world and many more astronomical instruments whose design principles based on ancient Hindu, Sanskrit texts. then move towards the 'HAWAMAHAL' (Wind Palace) made up of pink stone. If you have remained some time you should go 'GOVIND DEVJI' temple which is near to Hawamahal, this temple has recorded for having the widest single span RCC flat roof.

MONEY SAVING TIPS -: Money management is very important, you can save a lot of money from small things, here are few tips to save your money.
  • Buy tickets in combo rather than an individual ticket for each monument, they give you a discount on combo ticket, and it will save your time too.
  • .If you are a student bring your college or school ID card with you, it saves up to 75% on tickets and 30% on public transport.
  • .Do smart shopping and save lots of money, there is a big price difference of the same thing so before to buy anything check the prices in 2-3 shops and negotiate on it.
  • .If possible use public transport.
